Root cellar, circa 1880’s home with an old drain system has completely failed in spots due to silt blinding. Gutters are overflowing due to clogging which is also contributing. Groundwater is the primary factor in issues in the basement. Existing sump and liner and buried in silt and sediment as well. Exterior investigation shows water has pooled at left and right rear corner of home due to low spots and clogged gutters.
Solutions provided:
Highly recommend new gutter guards to control this. Demo old system and liner. Install new GrateDrain system on rear plus left and right walls only. Install new Pro Series PS 3033 with Deluxe Dual Float Controller in place of standard FastSump, no additional charge. Install new clear check valve and high water alarm. Recommend installation of battery back up system in case of power outage.
